BIG Architects Unveil Giant TED Cube Building In Taiwan

TED is a public building in Taiwan that uses a form and highly mixed program to encourage a large cross section of users.

Designed by BIG Architects (Bjarke Ingels Group), the 57 meter cubed building has an open section, or ‘street’ to allow full public access through the building.

BIG Wins Competition For The World Village Of Women Sports In Malmø


Danish architects BIG, in collaboration with British structural and civil engineering firm AKT, Swedish consultant Tyréns and German climate engineers Transsolar have just been awarded first place in a design competition in Malmø, Sweden for a 100,000 m2 first of its kind sports facility.

Danish Architects BIG Beat Foster And Hadid

Invited as one of five pre-selected architect led teams, Danish architects Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) was awarded first prize in an open international design competition which included 19 entrants amongst others Lord Norman Foster and Zaha Hadid.

The new National Library in Astana, named after the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, encompasses an estimated 33,000 sq m.

BIG’s design merges four forms – a circle, a rotunda, an arch and a yurt – into an ‘infinite loop’ with a single double-looping surface plane covering the entire building.

BIG Wins An International Competition To Design Tallinn’s New City Hall


Danish architects Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) have won an international competition to design a new town hall in Tallinn, Estonia.

An international idea contest was held for Tallinn’s new City Hall in Estonia and the best concept was presented by the Bjarke Ingels Group from Denmark together with Adams Kara Taylor of the UK.

BIG + Topotek 1 Take 1st Place In IBA Hamburg Competition

The IBA Hamburg is a building exhibition which is running in Hamburg until 2013 and has as its mission to develop solutions for the future of the metropolis. One in a long line of building exhibitions held throughout Germany which also included the 1927 Weißenhofsiedlung in Stuttgart which showed the latest developments in architecture and house construction. All building exhibitions to date have had one thing in common: they generated ideas on shaping the future of urban life.

Rojkind Arquitectos & BIG To Design A Museum In Mexico City

Rojkind Arquitectos & BIG won a competition to design the New Tamayo Museum overlooking Mexico City.

The cross-shaped museum will occupy a hillside above the city and incorporate a large viewing platform on the roof.

Cantilevered exhibition spaces provide shade for the social spaces beneath.
