Studio Daniel Libeskind Wins International Competition For Yongsan Business District In Seoul, Korea

‘Dream Hub,’ a major international competition for the Yongsan business district of Seoul, South Korea was awarded this week to ‘Archipelago 21,’ the proposal by Studio Daniel Libeskind. The project is made up of over three million square meters of built area and will include world-class shopping, residential neighborhoods, museum, performing arts center, school, extended transit and a multitude of gardens throughout. The scheduled time-line is 15 years with a construction budget of 27 trillion KRW (20 bil. USD).

At the center of the master plan is a 640m tall landmark tower, which will become an inspiring 21st century symbol for the entire district and for Seoul itself. ‘Dream Hub’ as a whole will transform the city into a more livable and architecturally appealing destination for business and for bringing international commerce to the east.

Studio Daniel Libeskind was chosen from a shortlist of five major architecture firms. The other firms leading the competition were Foster + Partners, SOM, Asymptote and Jerde Partnership.

To learn more about the project please visit the project’s website.

This is glitzy developer crap. It is not architecture. I think Libeskind’s 15 minutes of fame are over. Not sure why you bother giving him air time for trashy projects like this.
love the project
is the glass translucent?
Where will the residential housing be? What’s going to happen to the neighborhoods?
@ Larry, you sound very sour or very NIMBYish, one that doesn’t like progress or is stuck in the past of mudhouses and 2 storey buildings.
This is amazing , but I’m not sure about this project .
well the whole ditrict of Yongsan is atually a poor – medium income people residential are and also where the old US base was so they will simply move out the residents of course they will receive some funds from government to move somewhere else but in fact everyone in will be moved and all the actual constructions will be destroyed to make place for the new project

You’ll need to invest time and probably money as well to get your online business off the ground. If you look around at other businesses which people own or run, you’ll see that they will have had to invest an awful lot of money – either through a loan, or their life savings, just to get started. The beauty of the internet is that you won’t need anywhere near this amount of money to get going. But you will still need to make a serious commitment of time and effort before your success is assured.

I was doing a google search and this blog came up for lakeland real estate and wanted to spread the word about a local realtor. I just want to make sure as many people know about his business practices as possible. See for yourself by clicking on this link: Easy Homes. Sorry if this is off-topic I am just trying to spread the word. (PS – does this site look OK in chrome for everyone else?)
