The Wyly Theatre in Dallas by REX is almost finished.
The program order of the existing building has not changed much, but the architects take a step further, by re-studying the program relations and adjacencies, resulting on a unique building. On the top of that, the interesting aluminium skin makes this building look unique.
The facade is being installed this days, opening expected during 2009.

These are photos of Office for Metropolitan Architecture’s Television Cultural Center in Beijing, which was destroyed by fire last night.
The 40-story building is adjacent to the China Central Television Headquarters.
The almost-complete building was due to open in mid-May and contain a hotel, a theater and several studios. It was used for the 2008 Olympics but due to open officially later this year.
The structure was set on fire by stray fireworks fired by revellers celebrating Chinese New Year.
‘The 1900 First Avenue Hotel and Apartments, located at First Avenue and Stewart Street in downtown Seattle, will enhance the cityscape by responding to the built urban context while serving as an iconic landmark which is visually active, public, and transparent. Designed by the American Institute of Architects’ 2009 AIA Architecture Award- winning Firm Olson Sundberg Architects.

Zaha Hadid is working on her latest project in Italy, in the Mediterranean city of Reggio Calabria. Now, the architects have revealed some more information.
‘The project will be a gathering place for people of all ages – presenting the Mediterranean’s rich and diverse history with visual and performing arts to enhance the cultural vitality of the city,’ Zaha Hadid said.
