Ormen Lange // Forus // Denmark // JAJA Architects
From JAJA Architects:
‘The office building – Ormen Lange – meanders through the landscape and lifts itself up to create a new landmark that ensures a fantastic view and great visibility from the entire Forus area and the highway – E39. The strategic location of the building – in close proximity to local as well as regional infrastructure – ensures easy accessibility and establishes a new gate into Forus.
// Building Plot
The site is a long and narrow building plot that faces the roads Stokkamyrveien and Luramyveien.
// Efficient Work Block
The starting point of the project is an efficient office block that ensures abundant daylight and flexible plan layouts. It is laid out along the narrow building plot.
// Goods Delivery
In order to make space for the large goods delivery ares, we propose to bend the building to create space on the building’s back side- leaving plentiful space for parking lots on the front facing the street.
// Main Entrance For The Office
The building bends, once again, to emphasize the main entrance and create a generous front plaza.
// The Landmark
Finally, the building lifts itself up to create a generous entrance for the shop and make ot visible from Stokkamyveien and highway E39. The Ormen Lange will be a landmark for Forus and the entire region.’
