Oriya Jerusalem At The Eden Center Complex By Daniel Libeskind
‘Oriya Jerusalem by Studio Daniel Libeskind represents a new residential brand being created in Israel by American Colony Real Estate Development. Inspired by the rich history of Israel, this building will create a new skyline for the city of Jerusalem and, paired with its partner building in Tel Aviv, will redefine the standards of living in Israel.
The goal of Oriya Jerusalem was to create a meaningful project that would offer an emotional experience as well as a spectacular architectural definition to the city. Urban design and architecture increase the density of a central site in Jerusalem and link it to the old city and surrounding neighborhoods. The placement of the individual components of Oriya Jerusalem responds to the gateways and historic vistas of the city. Inner courtyards and surprising streets extend and connect Oriya Jerusalem with the historic municipality.
Based around the intimate relationship between the Jewish people and the land of Israel, Oriya sends an important message, the building block of its brand: ‘touching the soul to fulfill a dream.’
Daniel Libeskind’s own personal history is deeply entwined with Israel as it was the first place he called home after escaping anti-Semitism in Poland. He thus created two projects with deep soul and rich cultural significance. Oriya is not just about living spaces. Oriya is about history, roots, neighborhood, musical rhythm and spiritual energy. Oriya is about re-defining the living standards in Israel, bringing the international level of lifestyle and pushing the limits of architectural design. Oriya is about bringing two cities – Jerusalem and Tel Aviv – into the 21st Century by creating the bridge between roots and modernity.’

Libeskind has become a total hack. If any schlock developer churned this out he would be ridiculed (and rightly so). Some people look at it alongside Libeskind’s name and let themselves be fooled into thinking the same crap might actually be interesting.
If a developer produced this drivel with a hack architect it would be disparaged, and rightly so. Daniel Libeskind does this same pseudo-intellectual muck and people feel obliged to consider it seriously? Give me a break! This is awful. Throw in a few unusual shapes and people think it’s inventive, quality architecture? If your standards of appreciation are that low you are welcome to it.
What an ugly and cheap-looking design!
‘Sometimes, the light that comes from the deepest of my heart inspires an idea… What an extraordinary thing that light, so strange and yet so powerful at the same time… Light is divine.’ Daniel Libeskind
This has to be the dumbest architectural quote of all time. Daniel Libeskind is such a pathetic sap. He is an embarrassment to Israel and to the world.
Daniel Libeskind is the guy who was fired from the Freedom Tower Project.
Daniel Libeskind’s museum in Toronto was described by the Washington Post as “The most perverse and disastrous museum expansion in living memory.
Daniel Libeskind paid another architectural firm to design his own apartment but lied to the New York Times and said he designed it himself.
Daniel Libeskind is the guy who wrote the following “poetry” (See his asinine book Fishing from the Pavement.) – “Executives are praying to a chicken, confident of their brazen dream in which cherubs can not grieve but are instead forced to defecate on ruins in their doctor’s presence.”
