OfficePOD

OfficePOD

The nature of the workplace is changing as the majority of office roles no longer require dedicated space in a central office 5 days a week. OfficePOD enables a company to provide a more efficient working environment with significant cost, employee, environmental and productivity benefits.

Being an OfficePOD user will bring a positive change to life. A chance to cut down on commuting, to be more productive, to spend more time at home but at the same time keep your work separate. A major way to getting a better balance into your life.

Design

The OfficePOD design brief was to satisfy four principal criteria:

1. To create a self contained office that exceeds all standard office accommodation regulations & requirements.

2. To provide an environment that is conducive to productive work.

3. To create a product that staff would want, and even be proud to have, in their garden.

4. Have the minimum impact on the environment – both in manufacture and use.

Concept

The OfficePOD is of optimum size (2.1m x 2.1m) and does not require planning consent in the greater majority of cases. It’s modular design enables speedy construction even in gardens with the most difficult access. The POD has been designed to provide appropriate security when empty or occupied. The external and internal look and feel of the space as well as the overall user experience is the product of an extensive design process.

Environment

The environment has been a primary consideration in the choice of materials. Recycled and recyclable products have been used wherever possible and natural materials chosen above man-made. The POD satisfies the most stringent energy performance benchmarks with it’s low energy consumption level, high levels of insulation and innovative cooling system. We are committed to further improvements as advances in science and technology allow.

Benefits

1 Space to work

The OfficePOD provides a new additional space that is dedicated to work only. This creates a very important mental and physical boundary between home and work.

2 Reduced commuting

In London and the South East, for example, the average commute time per week is 8 hours (another working day…) at an average annual cost of approx. £4,000.*

3 Increased flexibility and time

Having a garden based office allows you to juggle the increased complexity of life’s commitments. Increased flexibility and time allows you to ‘keep the balance’.

4 Reducing CO2 emissions

An independent study has shown that moving to OfficePOD reduces CO2 emissions by between 46% & 67%.**

5 An additional room

Home working rarely works effectively when the kitchen table or spare bedroom is given over to work.

6 Full service

We ensure minimal disruption and full management of the whole process from survey through to installation and customer help-desk as well as relocation of the POD in the case of moving home.
