These club houses by MVCC were built in 2007, and are part of a large scale development of the new urban park Verde do Mondego. The old support building was replaced with these new larger ones. They are used by the canoeing, sailing and rowing clubs that use the river for their water sports. The new park is situated on formerly an abandoned area, on both sides of the river. The redevelopment has great meaning to the population and makes the city turn it’s attention to the water again. The two sides of the park are connected with the new Pedro E Inês bridge. There’s also an area for concerts and open air fairs next to it.
