Museum Residences By SDL Wins Merit Award In AIA New York’s Building Type Awards 2009

Winners of the AIA New York Chapter’s Building Type Awards were announced this week, recognizing outstanding projects in architectural design for New York based architects. Studio Daniel Libeskind was honored in the Housing category for the Museum Residences, a project built just next door to the Libeskind-designed Denver Art Museum in Denver, CO.
The Building Type Award winners were announced just one month after the AIA New York Chapter’s general 2009 ‘Design Awards.’ Honorees from both contests will be recognized at the Design Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, April 22nd, and projects will be exhibited at the Center for Architecture, 536 LaGuardia Place in New York City. The Design Awards exhibition runs from May 1st through July 2009.
The AIA New York’s Building Type Awards is a collaborative program with the Boston Society of Architects (BSA) that honors excellence in architectural design for specific typologies. This year, the awards recognized achievement in Health Facilities and Housing.
