‘Maria Sofia is a 35 single-housing unit to be sold as a co-operative. Based on a research project 8×8 by Wilhelmson, that was presented at the Architectural museum in Stockholm in August 2004.
Each house occupies a square of 8 m2 , with an enclosed courtyard of three squares totaling 192 m2. The single house consists of three stories adaptable to a large range of ways of living.
Specially concern has been given to the Swedish law of accessibility.
The housing units are designed to adapt to different orientations, giving the area a lively character inside as well as outside. Elevations are clad with aluminum panels dyed in four different cross-over colors and then anodized, creating a varied and luminous character.’
