Hasselt Court Of Justice // Belgium // J. Mayer H. & A20 Architects
This is the Court of Justice office building being built next to a train station in Hasselt, Belgium. Designed by A2o Architects.
The project to develop and revitalize the area around Hasselt train station in Belgium, was tendered in an international competition organized by Euro Immo Star in association with the province of Limburg, with a ceremony in August 2004.
The winning team consisted of Jurgen Mayer H, who are located in Berlin, and Hasselt-based companies A2o Architects.
A multifunctional office building (23.000m2, about 90.000 m3) will arise where an eye-catching high building project is signet in the masterplan.
From this icon, a salient design took form with two amorphous volumes: a tower of nine and a base of six levels in steel contractloon and glass, representant a tree, altough this marvellous piece of architecture is open to many interpretators.
Construction: 2007-2011
